The Amendments

Amendment I – The Ass Clowns Fantasy Baseball league shall become a keeper league as of the 2008 MLB season.

Amendment II – Each manager will choose five (5) players, to be chosen before or by the tenth day before the draft of each season, beginning in 2009. If no players are selected by the appropriate time, the top 5 players ranked on the team will automatically be placed on the team.

Amendment III – Article III: Section 2: Paragraph 3 shall have “for the Ass Clowns Fantasy Football League” added to the end of the sentence.
Baseball drafts will be decided by placement in the playoffs for the top six (6) teams in reverse order, Champion receives last pick, Runner-up receives second to last pick, etc. and by placement in the regular season standings for the bottom 6 teams in reverse order, last place receives 1st pick, second to last place receives 2nd pick, etc.

Amendment IV – The new Ass Clowns Fantasy Baseball Keeper League will have offline drafts to be set on a weekend before the start of the MLB regular season. Managers not present must be on a speakerphone drafting alongside the 2/3’s managers present or have the top Yahoo ranked players drafted; to be done in this method: top ranked person is drafted, unless position is filled. If position is filled next ranked person in an unfilled position is selected. So this will continue until all positions are filled. No pre-draft lists will be accepted.
This will go into effect for the 2009 baseball draft.

Amendment V – If a manager is cut and replaced, the new manager will receive the final roster of the inherited team and select 5 players, as the replaced manager would have done.
A new manager should be found as soon as possible, if not already lined up. If given the team within the ten days before the draft, the manager has thirty-six (36) hours to select the 5 keepers.

First of all, I don't think an offline draft is necessary and its pretty difficult to get everyone together, even via speakerphone. To offline draft we can use the chatroom on this forum page, but again, I don't think it will be necessary. For the first 5 picks of a live draft everyone MUST pick their keepers. For those that aren't present they must set their picks before hand. To prevent inactive teams before the draft, any team that does not designate keepers by a certain date should be cut and taken over by another manager. To prevent people from not picking who they are supposed to pick in the first 5 rounds, which I doubt anyone would do, we can have a penalty like their team is locked for the first week or something. And Devin can move people back to where they belong after the draft anyway. Even to make the first 5 rounds go faster, would be a good idea for everyone to set atleast their first 5 picks that way those rounds fly by.

I agree with what Sam said in like the last two sentences. Basically what he was saying (for those of you that didn't understand it) is pre-rank your keepers BEFORE the draft (you can do this up to 30 minutes before the draft begins, so there should be no problem with people not getting this done in time). An offline draft, particularly if we're all supposed to sit in one room or by speaker phone is not something I am looking forward to. It's gonna take way too long and is just going to be a huge pain in the ass. What you have to remember Bergie is that we all don't live in or around Stoneham and we all have different schedules. It's just not going to work. And this is one of the major reasons I proposed increasing the keepers to 10. With ten keepers, we only have to draft for 11 rounds instead of 16, making this much less time consuming and much easier for all of us.

o i have, it takes half the time of a normal draft. try that for time saving.

Have you ever met anyone in this league? Cause I have. Anytime we do anything together, it takes up a shitload of time (i.e. poker night. What's the average time per hand, like 5 or 6 minutes?) Furthermore, it still doesn't take away from the fact that it is a major inconvenience for just about everybody. I'm sorry, but I don't think anyone would want to make a commute for this, let alone try and do it over a speaker phone which is just retarded cause if you're on the recieving end of that all you'll be able to hear is muzzled voices over the loud screaming and talking coming from everybody in the room.

It's really not that hard to just pre-rank your players. All you do is go to the "draft" tab under the league and click the big link that says "pre-ranked players" and follow the very simple directions. I have done for every fantasy sport since I started playing because it makes it a lot more convenient to just click the name right in your own list than to have to scroll through the 1500 players names. And if someone fails to do this, Devin can easily fix it and we can penalize that manager for doing it.

Here's another example... do you remember Chain Reaction? That game should have taken about 20-30 min but actually took us almost 2 hours. Why? Because most of us are usually having conversations while others are miles away in their own little world.

Just another suggestion. It might be easier to have the due date for the 5 players you want to keep more than 10 days before the draft, that way if someone doesn't designate keepers we might as well keep them out of the league and find someone else to take their team.

thats a little much, i think that making them take their top five ranked players is enough
